Couple days ago I came back from my last trip abroad. This time was Italy. It is the fourth time I am lucky enough to visit this beautiful country!
I went with two of my cousins, John and Elena. We took John's car and traveled by ship from Patra's port. It was a long, long 25 hours looong trip with plenty of food and sleep. These two helped us soo much!! I hate traveling by ship but thank God it wasn't as bad as I expected.
This was a special trip - of every trip is special - because we've been planning it ever since Elena came back from Italy 3-4 years ago. She went there for the first time for studies and during her last 5 years there of her 10 years total stay she was in a relationship with an Italian.
They used to live together and when she left, she couldn't take all of her stuff with her, so he kept them for her until she would go back to pick them up. I know what you are thinking.."why didn't she mail them back to Greece?"..honestly I don't remember. But hey, it's fine by me! We got to the trip after all!!
We visited the north of Italy. Our first stop was the city where Elena went to university, the beautiful, medieval city of Urbino which introduced me to the most memorable and orgasmic gnocchi evah!!

The streets of Urbino really travel you to another era..

Gnocchi with something else which I don't remember
because I was in looove with the homemade gnocchi!! (Sorry guys for the
bad quality of the pic but trust me the food was aaamaaziing!) |

You haven't been to Italy if you haven't eaten gelato! This flavor was Raffaello - coconut with pieces of white chocolate - miam! |
|
Up, up, up! Walking up this street is the best work out evah!

Urbino is more like a village actually, a very small town where you get to bump into the same people. What I loved the most there, where the mornings when the old men gathered around in the main piazza talking loud, teasing each other, laughing and using so many hand gestures while well dressed Italian men and women, old and young were passing by!
S
oo lovely Italian!
next stop Bologna & Ferrara...
